Project Description
The Project Focus is to research and update the current species list and monitor migratory movements within Lebombo TFC. Collection of data will aid in the right mitigation for Ecology restoration within Mlawula Nature Reserve and Lubombo TFC.
The reserves of Mlawula, Mbuluzi,Shewula and Hlane fall within a larger project called the Lubombo Conservancy. This aims to protect the biodiversity of North East Eswatini (Swaziland),Jozini,Tembe Elephant Reserve and Kosi Bay Isimangaliso wetlands. In the process helping improve socio-economic aspects life for people through more sustainable use of natural resources. This area is also where most big game is found. The free-roaming herds of the past are gone.The focus of the conservation program is to assist technically and financially to rehabilitate the Ecosystem ,restore the habitat ,replenish much of its original wildlife, Educate and adapt the community to the focus of conservation and return the large free roaming herds. This area is very vital in importance to the Greater Lubombo system , in that it lies in the heart of the corridor and hosts a magnitude of flora and fauna unique to the region it is key to the success of 8 major important biodiversity areas of South East Africa which are ;
